Laser-cutting manufacturing enables the creation of custom hole designs on flat metal panels metal without the need for specialized tools, offering greater design freedom.

You can design your own panel pattern, use a standard pattern from AMICO (below), or work with AMICO to develop a custom pattern.

If you are designing your own panel, scale your design to meet your budget; patterns with more cuts will ultimately cost more because they take longer to cut. Planning a minimum opening of at least ¾" and the distance between should be at least 2x the thickness of the material.

Perforated Metal

All-across perforation can start with a coil of aluminum or sheets and go through a press with fixed dies that rapidly open and shut, punching the holes as they go.

PROS

  • Fast production

  • Cost-effective

Turret Press perforation uses a press with a moving bed and a library of dies it can select for punch and dimple surfaces. The equipment can take in design files and place holes to create unique textures and patterns.

PROS

  • High level of flexibility in design

  • Dimpling is available

Standard Expanded Mesh

With its versatility and aesthetic appeal, the flattened expanded mesh has become commonplace in architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture. The geometric patterns and varying densities of expanded mesh panels allow for the modulation of light and transparency while creating functional barriers for railing infills, screens, and walkways, adding a modern touch.

Rated 5 based on 1 product reviews

When it comes to interior design, using expanded mesh is an effective way to add texture and color accents to a surface while also complementing various design styles. This versatile material can be used to create partitions and screens that define different areas in open-plan layouts. It can also be used to add mass to hanging soffits, and when incorporated into light fixtures, accent walls, or other decorative elements, it imparts a level of accentuated detail with its delicate form and engaging metallic finish.

Rated 5 based on 1 product reviews

When the flattened expanded mesh is applied to landscape architecture, its high strength-to-weight ratio is very helpful in creating strong safety barriers and sculptural elements.

These materials also have a myriad of different industrial applications. If you are looking for simple raw sheets for your industrial or OEM projects, please visit AMICO's industrial site here.

FRP Architectural Panels

FRP stands for fiberglass-reinforced plastic. It is a material manufactured by interweaving and molding fiberglass with thermoset resin and UV inhibitors. The result is a strong, highly durable material that is great for security barriers, architectural screens, and walking surfaces.

AMICO cuts and fabricates your FRP panels to design-spec so they are ready to install on the job site.

Gradient Expanded Mesh

AMICO expanded mesh can create custom gradient meshes by varying the strand width during manufacturing.

This custom mesh produces a pattern where the hole is the same from row to row, but the strand becomes thicker or thinner.

Benefits of this mesh feature:

  1. It can obscure visual sight lines in key areas while opening up more to increase airflow where sight lines are not as important.

  2.  It provides a unique aesthetic to your design.

  3.  It can reduce access openings at the pedestrian level and increase openings to reduce material costs where pedestrian access is not possible.

  4.  Provide precise lighting and glare control in sunshade applications.
