Cambridge architectural mesh reduces glare in various percentages, depending on the mesh pattern chosen, into the regularly occupied areas of a building. This improves the light quality inside the building and makes for a better environment. A shading device is also a requirement for those projects seeking the daylighting and views credits.

Cambridge Architectural Forced Entry Protection Systems are the newest design in personnel protection systems, offering an open and welcoming aesthetic for building occupants while providing safety and security.

Certified by the U.S. Department of State, our defense systems resist forced entry into doors and windows, as outlined in SD-STD-01.01, Revision G. They are designed to meet or exceed the 5-minute protection level, allowing personnel to safely escape any dangerous situation.

It is clear today that any building can be an attack target, yet it may not be desirable to design the building to appear heavily protected. Cambridge Architectural Forced Entry Protection Systems give the best of both worlds - a robust defense with a modern, distinguished aesthetic.

Applications

Mesh ceiling systems provide both a stylish and functional solution for almost any application imaginable. Metal fabric acts as a sophisticated faCade for overhead ventilation and sprinkler systems, and allows light to be elegantly diffused off of its varying patterns. It can be painted any color, and is custom-fit to its respective ceiling so that very little maintenance is required. Architectural mesh is resistant to denting, scratches and corrosion, ultimately saving on costly repairs and replacements. Mesh also boasts properties that create effective acoustic control and ventilation. With a lifecycle measured in decades, architectural mesh ceiling systems are more beautiful and functional than traditional alternatives.

Stainless steel mesh canopies are designed to ensure maximum sun blockage while allowing air to pass through.

The interaction of the material with light varies, based on the openness of the mesh pattern. Closed, tight weaves can block illumination completely, while more open patterns pass varying degrees of light and heat.

Cambridge creates architectural mesh canopies to meet various design needs. Mesh panels may be installed horizontally overhead, parallel or an angle to the ground to allow for optimized shading. Long mesh panels are stretched between stainless steel cables which are integrated into the mesh panels to accommodate effective tensioning without any intermediate supports within the panels.

Cambridge canopies achieve an unparalleled aesthetic, featuring clean, cascading sections of metal fabric that form an impressive exterior design element. Architectural mesh is resistant to denting, scratches and corrosion, ultimately saving on costly repairs and replacements. With a lifecycle measured in decades, architectural mesh canopy systems are more beautiful and functional than traditional alternatives.

Cambridge Architectural mesh defense systems make a strong impression - literally.
Nowhere is this strength more evident than in coastal areas subject to hurricane-force winds.

Cambridge has specifically engineered patented attachment hardware for this environment meet the requirements of coastal areas, these mesh systems withstand wind gusts to 176 mph.

When confronted with high winds, Cambridge's Velocity attachment hardware releases tension on the mesh and then re-tension it automatically after conditions have passed. Attachment brackets have been modified for these systems to minimize structural stress on both the brackets and the building during high wind conditions. The system can also be specified to protect buildings from airborne debris in these conditions.

Velocity attachment hardware has acquired a Miami-Dade County Certificate of Competency by passing large missile impact tests.

The virtual indestructibility and lifecycle of Cambridge's metal fabric reduces maintenance costs, and assures that there will be no need for replacement materials, lending itself inherently to security and safety systems. Cambridge defense combines the elements of strength and design into one enduring and sustainable package.
