COMPANY OVERVIEW

ISE Logik is the #1 specialist in moisture vapor mitigation for new concrete slab construction or floor renovation over existing concrete. No one is more knowledgeable and more dedicated to stopping moisture vapor in its tracks , in floors and roof decks, than ISE Logik.

Founders David Seland and Dean Craft bring a combined 50 years of experience in the construction products and application industries. They provide an unsurpassed base of knowledge and experience for overcoming the challenges of concrete moisture in flooring and roofing systems. ISE Logik is also a leader in educating the industry through webinars and articles; as well as participating on various ASTM committees for establishing standards and best practices in roofing, flooring, and waterproofing.

• Our products admixture and topical coatings are listed as Construction Products—Building Products Category in Division 3 (Concrete) and Division 9 (Finishes-Flooring).

• Select ISE Logik products also carry HPD labeling and are found in Sustainable Minds and BIM.

• For new concrete, ISE Logik admixtures are formulated to stop moisture migration and warranted to 100% RH with no moisture testing required.

• For existing concrete, ISE Logik provides effective moisture vapor control with its 1-part topical coating that eliminates moisture testing and cures in just 8 hours.

ISE Logik sponsors the World Floor Covering Association (WFCA), International Certified Flooring Installers (CFI), The Flooring Contractors Association (FCICA), Construction Specifiers Institute (CSI), Single Ply Roofing Systems (SPRI), and Architects, Engineers, Construction (AEC). It is an on-going participant and presenter of CEU courses on AEC Daily, American Training Solutions, The Construction Specifier, Architectural Record and FCICA.

ISE Logik Industries Admixtures

ISE Logik Industries MVRA 900, a Certified ASTM C494 Type S Admixture, is formulated to react with the hydroxide ions produced by the cement hydration process. In doing so, this creates additional hydration products within the capillary pores and blocks them, effectively shutting down moisture vapor movement through the concrete.

Manufactured with deionized water to remove trace mineral ions and containing no chloride based materials, our products will not promote nor contribute to corrosion of embedded or reinforcing steel.

Each manufactured lot of our products is produced under some of the most exacting chemical manufacturing processes available, using only deionized water as its base ingredient. Deionized water guarantees that all steps to prevent the unwanted introduction of chloride and sulfate into the concrete batching sequence are being taken. Further, ISE Logik Industries MVRA 900 is the only product that independently performance tests in hardened concrete each and every manufactured lot against the following standards, prior to shipment:

  • ASTM D5084 - to prove greatly reduced permeability
o Permits flooring to be installed in as little as 8 days after concrete placement
o Protects concrete finish from moisture vapor emission failure from the concrete
o Protects against alkali and efflorescence attack from the concrete
  • ASTM C1260 - to prove alkali silica reactivity mitigation
o Increased hydration consumes residual pore space moisture and blocks capillary movement of moisture
o Reduces moisture available for alkali silica reactivity to occur
o Reduces further corrosion of any embedded or reinforcing steel
  • ASTM C157 - to prove shrinkage reduction
o Reduces slab warp, plastic shrinkage cracking and crazing
  • Increases compressive strength per ASTM C39/39M
o Often achieves desired strength weeks before the standard 28 days

BLOG

A lot has been said and written about admixtures in concrete within the flooring industry over the past couple of decades, but does it accurately reflect what is occurring within the concrete industry? Does the concrete that you are installing on have one or more admixtures in it? And if so, is it the norm or an aberration?

Proper concrete curing is critical to achieving the overall strength, durability, performance, and in many aspects, aesthetics everyone on a project expects of concrete. Further, proper curing is directly related to reduced maintenance costs and extended service life, therefore enhancing the overall sustainable design attributes of using concrete. Unfortunately, despite the relatively low cost of effective curing practices, this step in the process of concrete construction is often overlooked or minimized; and, failing to give curing its proper place can rapidly lead to failed expectations, expensive repairs, and delayed project timelines.

Many in the construction and floor covering installation industries are aware of moisture tests that occur before installing floor covering materials on concrete. Hopefully, more and more are becoming aware of the requirement to test for substrate surface absorption/porosity. Unfortunately, not as many are aware that almost all manufacturers either strongly recommend or even require adhesive bond tests before the complete installation of their products on a project. Thus this critical pre-installation evaluation often goes overlooked, or perhaps even worse, incorrectly carried out.
