Polyguard Products specializes in products that protect surfaces and structures from moisture, water and other undesired substances. Polyguard is currently operating under three "core" divisions with a number of growing divisions under the Polyguard umbrella.
Polyguard's Architectural Division offers the Integrated Building Envelope™ System, with air barriers, masonry through wall and window flashings, below grade structural waterproofing systems, and composite drainage panels, all connected using engineered transition detailing assemblies which assure envelope integrity.
Polyguard's Pipeline Division was the first coating manufacturer to highlight the cathodic shielding problem and the first to develop a coating to address the shielding problem. We have introduced a 2-part epoxy coating with 30% – 50% longer pot life than the competition.
Our Mechanical Division offers weather and vapor barrier systems to keep pipe and duct insulation dry, as well as a unique RG-2400® coating to stop corrosion under insulation (CUI).
Polyguard's Specialty Products Division is comprised of products for Highway, Residential, Flooring and Private Label applications.
A new innovation from Polyguard is the TERM Barrier Systems. Backed by 18 years of university research and ICC Evaluation Report #3632, you can optimize building waterproofing by adding non-chemical termite and insect barriers.
In May of 2016, Polyguard introduced a new business unit called Poly Wall Building Solutions - Moisture and Air Stop with Us.
Polyguard's Residential Division manufactures a market-leading line of waterproofing and air barrier membranes designed to enhance the integrity of your structure. Our products are all made in the USA and have been tested to withstand the most rigorous requirements in the construction industry. With 60-plus years of manufacturing excellence and a culture only found in an employee-owned company.
Think of Polyguard as an innovator and manufacturer of barriers – not just barriers against moisture and corrosion, but against contaminants like radioactive radon gas and methane. No sick buildings here.

Underseal® Blindside™ Membrane is a tough, 73-mil pre-concrete pour waterproofing membrane/vapor barrier designed to virtually eliminate water and vapor transmission through below grade concrete walls.
Underseal® Blindside™ Membrane is used as a waterproofing membrane where vertical, positive-side waterproofing is required to be installed before the foundation walls are poured. A strong mechanical bond is developed between the membrane and concrete at the time of pouring as the concrete intermingles with the fibers of the nonwoven geotextile. A strong adhesive bond is created when the static load and thermal reactive heat of the concrete slab causes sealant/adhesive compound to have an intimate contact with the concrete surface preventing water migration. With both a mechanical and adhesive bond, the concrete will be tightly sealed and bonded to the membrane, creating superior protection against moisture intrusion. 73-mil Underseal® Blindside™ can also be used in certain horizontal applications. Contact Polyguard for more information.

Underseal® Underslab Membrane is a tough, 85-mil pre-concrete pour waterproofing membrane/vapor barrier designed to virtually eliminate water and vapor transmission through concrete slabs & elevator pitts. In addition to protecting floor finishes and indoor air quality, Underseal® Underslab Membrane also acts as a barrier to methane and radon gas.
Underseal® Underslab Membrane provides a continuous seal underneath the foundation slab. Underseal® Underslab Membrane is typically installed horizontally over a prepared subbase such as compacted soil, mud slab or #57 stone. 85 mil Underseal® Underslab can also be used in vertical applications.

Blog & News
Choosing a suitable ICF vapor barrier contributes to an Insulated Concrete Form building's durability, indoor environmental quality (IEQ), and energy efficiency.
Professionally installed vapor barriers (retarders) stop water vapor from infiltrating a building envelope, provide damp proofing and enhance the energy efficiency, comfort, and long-term integrity of a commercial building or home. In addition, vapor barriers for ICF construction can prevent or minimize condensation, which can lead to damaging mold and threaten the effectiveness of the insulation.
Weep holes protect a brick structure's building envelope from moisture accumulation by allowing water in the wall cavity to escape. However, you must cover the weep holes with a screen that will keep tiny termites, larger rats, and dangerous embers and sparks from passing through, like Polygaurd's TERM Weep and Vent Barrier.
Strong, durable, and safe commercial buildings and homes need to have waterproof basement walls and floors. The goal in waterproofing a basement is to keep water and soil away from the below-grade walls and floor. For concrete basement walls, waterproofing requires installing a waterproofing membrane and a dimple drainage board.
Successful application of window flashing to complex recessed windows requires attention to detail and high-quality flashing material appropriate to the climate zone. Fortunately, Poly Wall® offers flashing products for all your recessed windows needs, including permeable Poly Wall®'s Blue Barrier Flash' N Wrap 2400 and impermeable Aluma Flash™ UV Resistant Flashing.
The long-term integrity and health of a structure depend on a successful wall drainage system, which includes three components:
A dimple board waterproofing (drainage boards, drainage panels) that gives moisture a path to the footings.
A footing drain to collect water, and direct it to a sump pump.
A pump to remove water to an external stormwater collection system. Alternatively, a sloping lot may provide enough gravity from the footing drain to the sunlight.
Liquid-applied vapor barriers create a monolithic coating that directly bonds to the exterior wall sheathing. The barriers stop vapor diffusion, which occurs when moisture flows from an area of higher moisture concentration toward an area of lower concentration. It also happens when moisture travels from a hotter to a cooler space within a building material.
Long-lasting, easy-to-use elastomeric flashing sealants provide weatherproofing protection. Properly installed, they prevent leaks at flashings in walls, gypsum sheathing, vents, skylights, chimneys, and stacks and fill gaps at head joints, minor cast concrete cracks, concrete masonry cracks, gypsum sheathing joints, and penetrations. In addition, elastomeric properties keep the flashing flexible over time, to resist brittleness.
A quality air barrier contributes toward an efficient exterior wall system by stopping air and any accompanying moisture from entering a building's interior. Air barriers come in several forms with various applications: fluid-applied air barriers and sheet applied.
Installing high-performing windows saves energy and blocks various kinds of damaging light, saving a tremendous amount of money and creating a more comfortable indoor environment.
Integrated building envelope systems are a superior solution for constructing sustainable, high-performing buildings. An integrated building envelope plan should keep its occupants secure, safe, and comfortable. In addition, it should protect the environment through energy efficiency and long-term structural durability.
High-performing, energy-efficient homes require a tight building envelope that prevents air (and moisture) from infiltrating the wall system. Air infiltration into a house can lead to significant energy loss. It will also cause condensation (moisture) to collect in the walls, resulting in structurally damaging and unhealthy mold and rot. The International Residential Code (IRC) requires weather-resistant barriers for most homes to prevent air- and moisture infiltration.
